What's it about?

Vivaldi's famous "Four Seasons" resounds in Vienna's Karlskirche. The Orchester 1756 plays on original instruments, accompanied by soloists. Tradition meets vibrant music. - The Karlskirche in Vienna - "St. Karl Borromäus" - is considered the most significant sacred building north of the Alps. It was built at the behest of Emperor Karl VI starting in 1716 after the last major plague epidemic and completed in 1737. In 1741, Antonio Vivaldi was buried directly at the Karlskirche. Until 1918, it was an imperial patronal church. Today, you can experience authentic concerts in the Karlskirche with the Orchester 1756 and its soloists playing on original instruments. Our traditional performances of Vivaldi's "4 Seasons" are now widely known for their high artistic competence and lively interpretation.
