Gala Performance
What's it about?
A unique hippological treat of a special kind is announced for the anniversary year 2016. With two gala performances on December 17 & 18, the Spanish Riding School Vienna will present itself with its magnificent Lipizzaner stallions in the Salzburgarena. An incredible 46 years have passed since the last appearance of the White Ballet in the city of Mozart, until horsedeluxe event GmbH succeeded this year, on the occasion of the anniversary year Salzburg 2016, to fix this new edition. The precision and elegance of the harmonious movements of horse and rider and their apparent lightness enchant horse lovers from all over the world again and again. Thus, it is not surprising that the Classical Horsemanship of the Spanish Riding School has been part of the intangible, international UNESCO cultural heritage of humanity since December 2015. The rider team of the Spanish Riding School presents in two separate gala performances all gaits and tours of the High School, the "School on the Ground" with pirouette, piaffe and passage, the "School Above the Ground" with levade, capriole and courbette. This appearance of the graceful Lipizzaner stallions in the pre-Christmas Mozart city of Salzburg gives all horse lovers, big or small, a wonderful opportunity to experience the deep bond between horse and rider up close.
