Doctor Dulcamara sells him a love potion for his last money, which is supposed to turn everything for the better. But Adina turns the tables and agrees to marry the dashing Sergeant Belcore, who is ardently courting her. Nemorino is in trouble. There is only one solution: more magic potion. Since he has no more money, he enlists as a soldier and uses the salary he receives to buy more of the wonderful elixir. But it is actually just red wine. When Adina realizes that Nemorino would even go to war out of love for her, she buys him out of his contract. Love now has free rein, and everything falls into place.
