What's it about?

by Elfriede Jelinek A co-production with the Salzburg Festival Duration and intermission: 4 hours - no break Humanity seems to be abolished. In Elfriede Jelinek's new play UNTER TIEREN, other voices speak instead of humans: bear and cow, rat and pig, badger, dolphin, dove, and many more. Also, "The Bear's Joke," the "Lamb of God," and the "Fur and Ram" enter the stage. All of them reflect on something deeply human: capitalism and its mechanisms. Bewildered and with growing sarcasm, animals follow the traces of money: from the Bible to Benko, from SV Mattersburg to Sigi Wolf - money rules the world and now also space. In cooperation with the Salzburg Festival, director Nicolas Stemann, together with a playfully energetic ensemble, brings the text to the stage. Staging: Nicolas Stemann Set design: Katrin Nottrodt Costumes: Marysol del Castillo Media staging: Claudia Lehmann, Konrad Hempel Assistant media staging, programming of AI component: Henrike Wiemann Music: Thomas Kürstner, Sebastian Vogel Lighting: Bernd Purkrabek Dramaturgy: Sarah Lorenz, Benjamin von Blomberg
