The absurd journeys of ship's doctor Lemuel Gulliver to Lilliput and the land of giants are full of fantasy and adventure; at least as exciting are the lesser-known expeditions to the flying island of Laputa or the land of talking horses. Jonathan Swift's literary classic is primarily marketed as a children's book in German-speaking countries, but it is actually a biting satire: How absurd one's own existence appears when encountering completely different life forms and worlds.
