Lieboch, Styria
Since 2004, the engine house and railway facilities in Lieboch have been restored to new splendor. Since then, the historic vehicles of the GKB, the steam locomotive 56.3115, and historic passenger and freight cars have been housed here. As a starting point for special trips into West Styria, the museum is an attraction for railway enthusiasts and tourists. Clearly visible signs make it easy for visitors to find their way to the museum. Directly in front of the exhibition building, there is a spacious and partly covered parking lot available free of charge. Barricade tapes at the entrance guide visitors. Inside the museum, there are no stairs or other obstacles; only the toilet has a step to overcome. The museum has no carpets, which could hinder wheelchair access. The furnishings also avoid curtains and upholstered furniture, which is a relief for dust allergy sufferers. The seating options inviting for a short break are also unupholstered. The museum can be visited alone or with a guided tour. Larger groups are kindly requested to register in advance. The guided tours are tailored individually and can also be adapted for people with learning difficulties upon request. Personal assistants are welcome guests and can visit the museum free of charge. The opening hours are: May 1st - October 26th, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and public holidays from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm.
