Club life means living in a community. Be it during joint work assignments, regatta management, events or cozy get-togethers on our club terrace, as well as joint and spontaneous sailing trips after waiting for wind on the terrace bench.From 1912 to 1927 there had already been a sailing club on Grundlsee. But it was to take until 1954 until five men and one woman tackled the re-establishment of a sailing club.Under the initiative and leadership of DI Fritz Hampel, these were Franz Hofbauer, Hugo Haas, Franz Rastl, Franz Syen and Lucy Häckel. It started with five boats and 20 members, locals and regular guests. In 1957, the club and boathouse, which still exists today, was built.In 1985, the club room on the first floor of the boathouse was expanded. An office for race management and a sauna were also installed in the boathouse. Finally, in 1990, the new balcony with an external staircase was built, which has since become a popular lounge terrace for members.
