City Parish ChurchThe core of the City Parish Church of St. John the Baptist is a pillar basilica from the 14th century.At the beginning of the 16th century, the magnificent main portal made of Aflenz sandstone was created.The decisive factor for the location of the entrance area on the east side was that the church, like the deanery, had to fulfill defensive tasks.On the west side of the tower, embrasures can still be seen.If you enter the church through the main portal, you reach the south nave via several steps.The church has the floor plan of a three-aisled Gothic basilica with an elongated, slightly raised choir, which was built around 1400.Gravestones inside and on the outer wall bear witness to an old cemetery.Here we encounter names of important Radkersburg families, such as the Eggenbergers or the Wechslers.Parallel to Langgasse runs Pfarrgasse, which in turn flows into it in a slight curve.The Tabor forms the northeast corner of the city.In the middle of the square is a Florian column from 1774.From here you can reach the inner courtyard of the Bad Radkersburg Museum.
