Stadtmuseum Weiz

The Weiz Museum considers itself a 'city museum' and serves as a central institution for the cultural life of the city. The City Archive and City Museum aim to be the memory of the city's (cultural) history and its citizens. Conveying the history of our city in an engaging way is one of the museum's most important tasks. A special feature is the history of the electrical industry in Weiz. The pioneering work of engineer Franz Pichler from Weiz, as well as the development of this industry which was crucial for the city's growth, are unique in Austria. The museum thus aims to make an important contribution to the understanding of history, art, and historical ways of life in Weiz.
