Folk medicine: a special feature is the original pharmacy interior from Trofaiach from 1904; further treasures include medical devices and utensils owned by the renowned plague doctor Adam von Lebenwald (17th century) and the doctor Dr. Schlömmer (19th century). In the archaeology department, the museum houses remarkable artifacts from prehistory and early history, including finds from the hilltop settlement on the Kulm near Trofaiach from around 800 BC and from the Trofaiach area. Museum Depot The museum includes the Museum Depot (former Umspannwerk Ost). The main focuses here are the visible storage and the extensive library with thematic focuses on Trofaiach and the Eisenstraße, traditional costume studies, customs, and Styrian literature, the traditional costume archive, and the Marichhofer mineral collection. Under the title “Kunst & Kultur im Depot” (Art & Culture in the Depot), cultural events in all areas of contemporary culture are regularly offered. Troadkost´n in Laintal Another branch of the Trofaiach City Museum is the Troadkost´n in Laintal. The former granary now serves as an exhibition venue. In the upper part of the “Kost´n”, a school day of the early 20th century can be experienced in the school desks and at the teacher's desk, supplemented by numerous interesting teaching aids and various teaching materials. The lower part, which was recreated to resemble a simple 19th-century farmhouse parlor, can be used for events (max. 15 people).
