The old castle stood on the plateau above Rattenberg. Of the older complex with keep, palas, and curtain wall, only the former has been preserved through frequent alterations. The legendary Bienerturm, which got its name from Chancellor Biener who was beheaded there, is still very well preserved today. The tower can be reached in just five minutes - enjoy the view! All of Rattenberg lies at your feet. Paths to the Schlossberg: Directly at parking lot P1 Rattenberg, follow the small underpass with signs "Zum Schlossberg". From there, the Schlossberg can be reached in approx. five minutes on foot.
