Rochuskapelle

Parndorf, Burgenland

The Rochuskapelle on the road to Bruck/Leitha is also one of the numerous special features of Parndorf and is a place of contemplation and tranquility for our population. It is a plague chapel from the first half of the 18th century, the time when the last plague epidemics raged in Europe. The small Baroque building has a high curved gable, and niches with figures of Saint Florian, Saint Rochus, Saint Sebastian, and Saint Rosalia are installed in the facade. On the apse wall there is an oil painting of the crucifixion, which dates from the 18th century. The chapel is dedicated to Saint Rochus.
