According to the founding image, the "Trunseo" abbey was already built in 632 AD. In 1020, Benedictine nuns from the Erin monastery on Nonnberg in Salzburg came to Traunkirchen. Through the Jesuits from Passau, who took over the monastery in 1622, the magnificent Baroque church in its current form was built after the second fire in 1632. The first fire in 1327 completely destroyed the monastery. However, it was rebuilt by the Benedictine nuns. Through the Jesuits from Passau, who took over the monastery in 1622, the magnificent Baroque church in its current form was built after the second fire in 1632. In 1773, the Jesuit monastery was dissolved, and the monastery church has served as a parish church ever since. The high altar, built in 1754 by Franz Preisl, is consecrated to the Coronation of Mary. The right side altar is consecrated to St. Ignatius, and the left to St. John of Nepomuk. The main work of the church is the famous "Fischerkanzel" (Fisherman's Pulpit), which an unknown master created in 1753 and which depicts the miracle of Peter's rich catch of fish.
