The church tower dates back to that time. The current church was built around 1720 in Baroque style. The high altar, the Frauenaltar (Altar of Our Lady) and the Kreuzaltar (Altar of the Cross) are by the local artist family Bletzacher. The organ was built in 1777 by Ferdinand Fuchs and expanded in 1954; the Rococo facade has been preserved. Worth seeing cemetery The Alpbach cemetery is also worth seeing, as hardly any other resting place is as immaculately maintained as this one. In addition to the lovingly designed graves, with their artfully forged crosses, you can visit the grave of Erwin Schrödinger here. The Austrian atomic physicist, who died in 1961, found his final resting place in the village cemetery of Alpbach.
