The story told in the new museum begins in 1186 with the "Georgenberger Handfeste", which is considered Austria's first state treaty due to the peaceful merger of the duchies of "Austria" and "Styria", and with the "city rights privilege" granted to Enns in 1212 as the first city in Austria, making Enns the oldest city in our country.In eight rooms at Ennsegg Castle, visitors also begin their stroll through the development of the city of Enns from that time to today.
