St. Kathrein am Hauenstein, Styria

The parish church of St. Kathrein am Hauenstein holds a very significant place in the stories and narratives of Peter Rosegger. Rosegger also demonstrated his love for the church during the difficult time in 1904. At that time, it was partially destroyed in a village fire, and it was Rosegger, who – already a well-known poet and writer beyond the country's borders – initiated a fundraising campaign for the reconstruction of the church in national and international newspapers.
