In the Catholic Parish Church of St. Hippolyt, you can embark on a journey through sacral architectural history. The church at the town square of Zell am See is one of the most venerable church buildings in Pinzgau and has its roots in the 10th century. Only the crypt from the Ottonian hall church of that time has been preserved. The current structure, a three-aisled pillar basilica, was expanded in the Gothic style until the 13th century. The impressive west tower and the west gallery are striking examples of late Gothic architecture. Inside, you will find neo-Gothic altars and beautifully designed stained glass windows. The uncovered frescoes from the 14th and 17th centuries complete the historical ensemble.
