Hornschmied Mühle

Along a waterway of the narrow Miesenbach, the Hornschmied Mühle can be found as a testament to a bygone era. Many mills along the stream disappeared as electrification progressed. Grinding was done at home. The mill defied this development; the millstones were simply driven by an electric motor. In 1993, the old monument was completely renovated for the first time, the mill wheel was rebuilt, and a show mill was created. For guests, the Hornschmied Mühle is in any case a wonderful, beautifully situated memento of how much work it used to take to produce daily bread. The show mill is now a place for relaxation and rest for hikers throughout the year.
