Wels, Upper Austria
The Herz-Jesu-Kirche was built between 1905 and 1911 in Neo-Romanesque style with 2 striking facade towers in the west, on the initiative of Wels city pastor Josef Flotzinger, as the center of the then still largely undeveloped Neustadt district. The Herz-Jesu painting in the apse was painted in 1960 by Prof. Alfred Stifter from Linz. Further information is available from the Wels City Archives, Magistrat der Stadt Wels, Maria-Theresia-Straße 33, 4600 Wels, Tel. 0043 7242/235-7050.
