In the house directory of Gmunden's most important local historian, Dr. Ferdinand Krackowizer, this house is identified as a hostel for salt stone miners, salt carriers, and the salt brotherhood from 1392. After 1600, it served as the house for butchers, turners, and hat makers. In the 19th and 20th centuries, it was home to various business sectors. From 1960, it underwent several structural changes, and various shops were located within it. More information can be found at Gmundens Schätze!
