At 2,558 meters, the Gorfenspitze is not only one of Galtür's two local mountains, but also a striking landmark above the valley. From the summit, visitors are rewarded with far-reaching views of a mountain landscape full of stories. The nickname "Weiberhimml" (women's heaven) dates back to a time when men in Galtür did the field work – unlike in other villages where women also had to work. Those who married in Galtür were considered to have "found heaven" – a saying that lives on to this day. The viewpoint is accessible all year round and offers impressive views of the Gorfenspitze and the Paznaun Valley.
