In 1965, the sculptor Wander Bertoni acquired the Gritsch Mühle, a watermill in Winden am See, at the foot of the Leithagebirge. On ancient cultural ground (Roman villa, discovery of the oldest wine press on Austrian territory - second half of 200 AD), a very special art venue, unique in Europe, was created over many decades. The large sculptures are visible from afar from the Kirschblütenradweg. Since 2010, Wander Bertoni's egg collection has been housed in an architecturally very interesting new building, in context with the other museum buildings. Over 400 sculptures can be viewed on the grounds and in various indoor spaces. Museum building opening hours: March 26, 2026 to November 1, 2026, Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 The open-air area and sculpture park can be visited year-round and are freely accessible
