When Lake Zell freezes in winter, ice skating becomes a unique natural experience. On the north shore of the lake, in the Wieshof | Krankenhaus area, a designated part of the ice surface is officially open for ice skating. Here, you can glide safely over the ice and enjoy the winter landscape around Zell am See. At the same time, special caution is required: all areas of the lake that are not officially designated must not be entered under any circumstances. There is a serious risk to life there.
