Aussichtsturm Wiesen-Lanzenkirchen

The municipalities of Wiesen in Burgenland and Lanzenkirchen in Lower Austria built a joint excursion destination as part of an EU project, which stands on the border of the two places. A 15-meter-high observation tower was built from which one can look as far as Lake Neusiedl on one side, and on the other side, the Steinfeld, the Bucklige Welt, Schneeberg, and Hohe Wand can be seen. The observation tower is one of the hiking highlights of the region. It is easily accessible from the Lower Austrian side from Lanzenkirchen, Ofenbach, and Katzelsdorf. From the Burgenland side, it can be hiked from Wiesen, Bad Sauerbrunn, Neudörfl, and of course from Forchtenstein (Rosalia district, also well suited for the older generation as it is not steep). It is not only a popular destination for hikers and families but also for mountain bikers, as comfortable loungers as well as tables and benches invite visitors to rest and have a snack. The observation tower is freely accessible all year round and can be visited at any time!
