The Achenseeschifffahrt looks back on a long and eventful past. Pioneer Albert Wildauer, himself a captain, launched shipping on Lake Achensee with the construction of a steam-powered ship. The “MS St. Josef,” delivered in parts in 1887 and transported by horses to Pertisau, was the beginning of a success story – and the cornerstone for the modern fleet that delights guests from all over the world today.
