Eva Karl Faltermeier - Ding Dong – Cabaret & Everyday Humor

Sunday 4 October · 17:00BKA Theater

What's it about?

With a lot of wit and Bavarian grumpiness, Eva Karl Faltermeier takes on the madness of everyday life. Her program "Ding Dong" combines sharp observations with a portion of self-irony. - Her laconic humor and Bavarian grumpiness are the spice of her jokes. The new program also offers laughter as a coping strategy for mistakes, goals, and breakdowns, and the very normal challenges of everyday life.Eva Karl Faltermeier is known for her sharp wit and her inimitable way of delighting audiences in Bavaria and all of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. In her third stage program "Ding Dong," she remains true to her style as she shares her socio-political observations with her audience. The breeding ground for this is often her background, the tricks life plays on her - they are ideal for drawing conclusions from the small to the large. Her stage persona once again faces the multiple challenges of everyday life between unfulfillable societal norms and cultural roots; an emotional mix that can provoke powerlessness. This powerlessness is the powerlessness of many. And to free herself from this, Eva Karl Faltermeier constructs stories with humor. Her great art lies in presenting peculiarities and serious topics with a wink. Laughter as a coping strategy - about time, breakdowns, and goals; what one misses, what one has, and where one wants to go. In the end, there remains the confidence that everything is somehow manageable. Nobody spoke of perfection.Eva Karl Faltermeier has quickly made a name for herself in the scene in recent years, received and awarded prizes, visited and hosted television shows. The heart of her artistic work, however, remains the live evenings, when she plays with passion for her audience. An artist you have to like. At a distance, of course."I want people to laugh, think, and feel comfortable at the same time," says Eva. "Cabaret is a way for me to reflect on the world a bit and make people smile - also about themselves and above all: about my mistakes"."[Eva Karl Faltermeier] provides a perfect projection surface for a general state of overwhelm. [...] Stories grow on her at the brink of a nervous breakdown, where a laugh extinguishes the grumpiness." (Salzburger Nachrichten)"As delicate as the black-haired cabaret artist is, so concentrated is her power with which she fires her punchlines into the audience." (Passauer Neue Presse)
