Jerzens, Tyrol

ausstellungmuseumstour

Jerzens – a mountain village in the Pitztal, nestled in a unique high alpine landscape! The stone pine is characteristic of the alpine landscape around Jerzens – a tree that has accompanied people here for centuries. The dense stone pine forest above Jerzens has protected the village from avalanches and mudslides since its inception. The exhibition “The Stone Pine – Border Crosser with Talents” takes visitors into the fascinating world of the stone pine. Sale of stone pine products: Jerzens tourist information; Reinstadler sawmill in Jerzens and Kaufhaus der Berge - Alpine Naturprodukte in Arzl; A small selection of stone pine products is available at the tourist information offices in Arzl, Wenns and Mandarfen. TIP: Also visit the ZirbenPark at Hochzeiger! Description for wheelchair users: The exhibition “Die Zirbe” can be accessed directly via the Jerzens tourist information. There is no designated wheelchair parking space and access to the building is via cobblestones. The exhibition illuminates the history of a stone pine and relates it well to the development of a human being. This way, you learn everything worth knowing about the stone pine. All areas of the exhibition are easily accessible by wheelchair and the passage widths are sufficient. The restaurant “Zirm” is located adjacent to the exhibition. Access to the restaurant is via a 3-meter long and approx. 13% incline. As in the entire building, there is no wheelchair-accessible toilet here either.
