Weinblick am Eisenberg

The "Weinblick viewing platform" is located on the southern slope of the Eisenberg amidst a vineyard. A special feature is the railing, which was designed with 110 cm high glass walls, making the viewing platform appear light and weightless. In 2008, the "Weinblick" received the Timber Construction Award of the Province of Burgenland.The viewing platform is part of the project Das ökoEnergieland and was built in 2007 with the support of the municipality of Deutsch-Schützen. It is part of an adventure world that aims to bring the topic of eco-energy closer to visitors throughout the entire southeastern Burgenland with a wide variety of structures and design concepts.The goal is to draw the attention of visitors and residents of our region to the beautiful Pinkatal and the surrounding area. The panoramic view extends far into Hungary to the east, and to the south, the endless forests of the "Naturpark Weinidylle" spread out. The municipalities of Deutsch-Schützen-Eisenberg, Bildein, and the neighboring villages in Hungary lie at its feet. On clear days, you can see the Riegersburg (Styria) and even the Koralpe (Carinthia).Of course, you also have a beautiful view from the Eisenberg, but most visitors walk through the Kellergassen (wine cellar lanes) far too carelessly. The platform is intended to encourage people to consciously look out into the landscape and perceive its beauty.
