The starting point of this approx. 9km circular hike (pure walking time approx. 2.5 hrs.) is the "Schuh-Mühle" in the heart of the market town of Schattendorf. The path leads out of the village towards Kogelberg. The 1st station with an impressive panoramic view and a cozy resting place is the "Grimmingkreuz" on Krippelberg. Here, it is possible (with advance registration) to taste regional wines and grape juices from the "Wein-Schatzkiste" (wine treasure chest). (You receive the key to open it upon registration - deposit €50.00)After an easy hike on well-maintained roads and paths with a slight incline, you reach the 2nd station "Teichwiesen", an incomparable place that offers insights into the nature park, its species-rich bird paradise, and valuable plant world. There, you can strengthen yourself with regional delicacies as part of a snack in the green (by prior arrangement). Afterwards, the path leads back towards Schattendorf. The 3rd and last station is at the natural monument "Schöne Eiche" (Beautiful Oak). In the shade of the imposing, centuries-old tree, hikers are invited to open another "Schatzkiste". From here, you can either walk or take the "Dorfschattl" (village taxi by order, €1 per person) back to Schattendorf.Date: April to November by arrangementDuration: 4 – 5 h (walking time 2.5 h)Participants: min. 5 people, max. 30 peopleCosts: Wine treasure chest € 30, with snack € 35Equipment: sturdy footwearRegistration & Meeting point: Schuhmühle Schattendorf, Am Tauscherbach 1, 0681/84829000 office@muehle-schattendorf.at ; www.muehle-schattendorf.at
