Hainzenberg, Tyrol

The pilgrimage on the Hainzenberg began in 1659. In 1738, construction of the current pilgrimage church began in place of a small wooden chapel. In 1741, Josef Michael Schmutzer created the magnificent ceiling painting with depictions from the life of Mary, and in 1748 it was equipped with a beautiful Rococo altar by Stefan Föger. In 1756, the solemn consecration of the pilgrimage church took place. After a rockfall in 1914, the shrine was restored in 1923/24.
