Wallfahrtskirche Maria Bründl - Bründlkirche - Glatzingerbründl

The chapel, originally built in the 18th century, attracted many sufferers due to the water of the Glatzinger Bründl, which was considered to have healing powers, and is today a popular wedding church. Originally, there was an image of Mary at the spring. Later, a wooden chapel was built. Due to the closure of the filial church Maria Bründl (1753 - 1756), popularly known as "Rotbründl", which was built outside the cemetery and ordered by Josef II in 1785, the small church, along with the patronage "Maria Heimsuchung", was moved to the Glatzinger Bründl. Here nearby, the miraculous appearance of the four-rayed star is also said to have been observed in 1755. Due to the dilapidation of the old chapel, the new construction of the church - today's "Maria Bründl - Wallfahrtskirche" (pilgrimage church) - began in 1978 and was consecrated in the same year by Auxiliary Bishop Dr. Alois Wagner on October 15, 1978. In addition to votive pictures, two of the most beautiful consecrations for healings (including one with a carved stick frame containing a particle of the cross) adorn the choir balustrade. Outside, a fountain dispenses the "Bründlwasser" (spring water), which is valued by many. In front of the Bründlkirche, a footpath leads to the right into the forest towards Matzelsdorf, where the Stations of the Cross, newly erected on both sides of the path in 2000, are located.
