Name: Virtual Weißwasser - Rediscovery of the Reichraminger Hintergebirge Mining Settlement Description: At the time of mining operations, nearly 1000 workers and their families lived here. This "visualization" of the no longer existing settlement is made possible via an app on one's own mobile phone or tablet. Along a length of about 800 meters along the Hintergebirge cycle path, visitors can see the houses and barracks, the cable car station with its associated material cable car, as well as the infrastructural facilities of the former settlement such as the locksmith's shop, carpentry, sawmill, and fire station garage in a realistic form on the display of their mobile phone or tablet, left and right. Information about the respective buildings can be accessed on the display by clicking. This project is not only intended to be an additional offer for the museum operations of the Knappenhaus Unterlaussa, but due to its unique selling point, it has the potential to become a popular visitor magnet in the Kalkalpen/Eisenwurzen National Park region. This will also sustainably revitalize regional tourism.
