Around the year 1000, the first church in "Chamere" was built, which was then dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. The oldest remnant of this church is today's sacristy, and the now exposed frescoes show us the art and faith of the people around the year 1000. The interior of the church is closed almost all year round, except for special occasions! However, the covered "outer walkway" may of course be entered.
