Troadkasten - Getreidespeicher in Mariapfarr

Typical for the Lungau region are the mostly masonry and elaborately decorated grain stores, known as Troadkästen (Troad = grain), which can still be found at many farms in the Mariapfarr area. They were used for storing grain and other valuable goods of the respective farm. These storages were built with particular care and were always constructed somewhat away from the farms to protect against fire. Locations include: Zankwarn (Fam. Schitter/Zehnerhof, Fam.
