The stories about the ibex in the Alpine region are closely linked to the municipality of St. Leonhard. Today, 65 years after the successful reintroduction of the ibex in the Pitztal, a remarkable visitor center at "Am Schrofen" is dedicated to this exciting topic. The barrier-free center impresses with its extraordinary architecture and includes an interactive exhibition on two levels, a cafe-restaurant with a guest terrace, and an info area with a shop. In a freely accessible wildlife enclosure (feeding station accessible without barriers!), marmots and ibex can be observed at eye level. In winter, the marmots are in hibernation. Important: Please note that dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the entire area. Dogs are NOT allowed in the ibex enclosure!
