Teufelstein refers both to the mountain in the Fischbacher Alps and to the three large, stacked rock blocks at the summit. These three rock blocks are well known as "Teufelstein." With a height of about 6 meters, the three stones offer a great view over the surrounding Alps. From a geological perspective, however, the three boulders are the result of weathering. Hard rocks often persist longer than their surroundings, and such rock formations are not uncommon in the Eastern Alps. Nonetheless, this stone probably served as a calendar stone, because the rock is smoothly hewn on two sides.
