Teichalmsee

The Teichalmsee is located at approximately 1,200 meters above sea level and covers an area of 5 hectares. It is about 5 meters deep at its deepest point. In summer, visitors can pedal boat, walk around the lake, fish in the Teichalmsee or Mixnitzbach, relax on the shore, enjoy the excellent gastronomy, or use the lake as a starting point for hikes. Directly at the lake are the Teichalmlifte and the Reisinger ski school, as well as the family Reisinger winter sports equipment rental. The Teichalmsee is also the starting point of the 16 km cross-country ski trails (Hochmoor-Loipe, Sommeralm-Loipe, Bärenschütz-Loipe) on the Teich- and Sommeralm, which are groomed in classic and skating styles. Additionally, winter and snowshoe hikes and horse-drawn sleigh rides are offered. Plenty of parking spaces and an e-charging station are available at Teichalmsee. A walk around the lake with dogs is of course permitted; we only ask that dogs are kept on a leash. Dogs can also go into the Teichalmsee, but since it is a moor lake, it may be somewhat muddy on certain days. The moor educational trail can also be hiked with dogs on a leash, but it is not allowed to leave the wooden plank path, neither dog nor person! The Teichalmsee is a popular starting point for numerous hikes such as: - Rote Wand hike - Hochlantsch circuit - Moor educational trail - Gerlerkogel - Schüsserlbrunn - Heulantsch circuit - Almenland hike - Osser loop - an alternative route for the Bärenschützklamm and many more!
