Surfclub Gmunden

Our pier and harbor facility, newly built in spring and summer 2008, is our pride and joy and unites surfers, swimmers, and boaters. Examples of activities from past years include: weekly joint meetings (Stammtisch), Christmas parties, weekly fitness training, communal tobogganing, Grünberg tours, ice stock sport, sales booth at public events, lively barbecue evenings at the club grounds, surfing trips to Lake Neusiedl, gardening at the club grounds, etc. Our goal is a communal get-together and to revive surfing, which has been pushed into the background in recent years by numerous fads, and to make it as appealing as possible to young people. Another goal was to bring the sport of surfing back to Lake Traunsee in 2007 with regattas and side events, as well as to actively support active members through various grants from the state and federal government. The first step was taken in 2007 with the 1st surf-4-fun Windsurf Regatta. In 2008, a new generation of the surf-4-fun Windsurf Regatta followed. An extensive event with many program points such as a fashion show, live band, spit roast pig, and Frühschoppen (morning pint) underscored this unique event. What our club offers ... A beautiful new fixed pier facility, a marina with 5 boat berths, and a large floating pier facility that offers a quiet place to sunbathe, and at the same time provides an excellent entry point into Lake Traunsee. A 20m long fixed pier bathing facility and a 35m long floating pier with beautiful entry points to enjoy the "cool" waters of Lake Traunsee await you.
