Stoagupf und Augenquelle

Not far from the Stoagupf is the famous Augenquelle (eye spring), whose water is said to heal and alleviate eye ailments. The water of the Augenquelle has been examined and found to be of excellent drinking water quality. In the past, babies and toddlers with illnesses or disabilities were washed with the water from the Augenquelle. Since the water comes from deep within the earth, it always has a constant temperature - a great refreshment for anyone who passes by it. A leisurely hike from the Augenquelle through the municipal forest (with a slight ascent) to the "Stoagupf". Along the way, you will learn interesting and exciting facts about the legend of Grieselstein, which is passed down from generation to generation in the nature park. "Stoagupf": A volcanic cone that was not only the site of one of the oldest hilltop settlements (Neolithic Age) in Burgenland, but also the site of a "Kernwerk" (core work) with a simple wall-and-ditch system in the Middle Ages. Furthermore, the "Stoagupf" offers a beautiful viewing platform into a wonderful area both by day and by night.
