The nave was completed in 1277. Under Abbot Anton Wolfradt (1613-39), the first wave of Baroque reached the church. It received its final form under Abbot Erenbert Schrevogl (1669-1703). He commissioned master builders and stucco artists from Upper Italy, who adapted the church to the new ideal in a short time (1680-82). The high altar painting by Andreas Wolf was completed in 1712 after 12 years of work.
