Stiftskirche Garsten

The former Benedictine monastery (1107 - 1787) - a jewel of baroque architecture - was a religious, cultural, and intellectual center of the Eisenwurzen. Stucco work of rare beauty and magnificent tapestries of Dutch origin adorn the church. Worth seeing: Losensteiner Chapel, sacristy, and summer choir. Access to the church is free; guided tours of the monastery are available upon prior arrangement.
