Stift Waldhausen im Strudengau

The founding of the Augustinian Canons Regular monastery is based on the endowment deed of May 16, 1147, in which Count Otto von Machland and his wife Jeutta von Peilstein transferred parts of his extensive possessions in the current municipality to the Säbnich monastery (high above the Danube near Sarmingstein).
