St. Agatha, Upper Austria
In 1626, the Upper Austrian farmers rose up against the hated Bavarian governor Count Herberstorff for religious but also social reasons. The leader was Stefan Fadinger, to whom a monument was erected here in his home community. Morning stars and other, mostly homemade weapons of the farmers, as well as overviews of individual battles, bear witness to a bloody chapter of Upper Austrian history.
