The Staller Sattel pass is open again since May 22, 2026! The Staller Sattel with the Obersee is a popular excursion destination. The impressive landscape, its blooming alpine roses and magnificent panoramic views into the wild nature of the Hohe Tauern National Park transform a visit to this area into an unforgettable experience. The Staller Sattel is also a mountain pass in the Eastern Alps. It connects Defereggental (East Tyrol) and Antholzertal (South Tyrol). The road to Antholz is open between May and the end of November (only for cars and minibuses), while crossing is not possible during the winter months. Staller Sattel pass / Regulations during the summer months: During the summer months, the pass is passable 24 hours a day! Traffic light regulation! Crossing from Defereggental to Antholzertal is possible from minute 1 to minute 15 of every hour. Crossing from Antholzertal to Defereggental is possible from minute 30 to minute 45 of every hour. Crossing is permitted for minibuses with up to 9 seats. Maximum length 10 m and maximum height 3 m - tunnel!
