Wels, Upper Austria
Originally, there were two town fountains (upper and lower town fountain) on the town square, which were erected in the 16th century. The upper town fountain had a fountain figure created by the Linz sculptor Hans Püchler, depicting a knight with a flag and shield on which the town's coat of arms was shown. The fountain, which can be found today opposite the town hall, is a replica of the Renaissance town fountain from the 16th century that was dismantled in 1896.
