Spullersee

The Spullersee is an originally natural high-alpine lake in Vorarlberg. It was dammed between 1919 and 1925 by the Austrian Federal Railways for the electrification of the Arlbergbahn and has been used for energy generation ever since. In addition to numerous hikes on and around the Spullersee, it is also a popular fishing spot. Whether rainbow, brown or lake trout, lake or brook char, beautiful salmonids can be caught almost anywhere in the approximately 50 ha reservoir. The Spullersee can be reached in several ways: On foot from the Klostertal and from Lech am Arlberg with the local bus Wanderbus Lech Seen, line 706 Spullersee (subject to charge) or by bike through the Zugertal. Access by car to the Spullersee is only possible via the toll road from the district of Zug. In addition, there is a general driving ban between 08:00 and 16:30, as well as all day on Wednesdays, but the hiking bus runs regularly during this time (subject to charge).
