Walking tour "Prüllweg" Trail marking: 14, 18 Starting point: Hotel-Restaurant Obauer Route length: 2.5 km Elevation gain: approx. 100 m Walking time: approx. 1 hour Difficulty level: blue Refreshment options: Hotel-Restaurant Obauer, Gasthof Werfenerhof, Kuenburger Mundschenk Dining tips: Gasthof Werfenerhof, traditional Austrian cuisine in a family-run inn, or a cold beer at Kuenburger Mundschenk, along with a small snack. You start next to the well-known 4-toque restaurant of the Gebrüder Obauer, in the southern part of Werfen. There, you walk along the Hirschenhöhestrasse between the houses on routes 14/18. After a few minutes, turn right, always following route 14, to Söllberg-Bauernhof. From there, the "Matthias-Prüll-Weg" branches off to the right, running high above Werfen. You hike across meadows and through the forest with breathtaking views of the town, Hohenwerfen Fortress, and the Tennengebirge mountains. After some time, you reach a junction that leads left to Dielalm, about an hour away, or straight ahead, passing the ice stock sport rink, still following route 14. The path then descends directly opposite Hohenwerfen Fortress. If you wish to take an earlier turnoff, you can return to the village center via route 401 at the same junction, or a bit after the ice rink, follow route 11 along Josef-Struber Straße to Gasthof Werfenerhof. There, you can also enjoy a meal after this lovely walk.
