In this new exhibition, you will experience firsthand what court life was like around 1800. Historical accounts tell of lavish feasts, musically accompanied banquets, and festive balls that shaped the social life of the European elite. The tables were set for illustrious guests, including the Empress of Austria Maria Ludovica, famous Archdukes, the British naval hero Horatio Nelson, as well as members of Europe's leading noble houses. The carefully preserved service pieces from the Sèvres manufactory, delicate porcelain figures, richly embroidered table linen, and gleaming silver cutlery reflect the opulent splendor of bygone eras. You can immerse yourself in the world of a princely court society, where every detail – from the menu sequence to the elaborate table decoration – was part of a refined social ritual.
