Photo: Marktgemeinde Waldhausen im StrudengauWaldhausen, Upper Austria
Easily accessible rock formations located in a natural mixed forest of the Oberwittmessergut. Of the two uppermost stone blocks, which are separated only by a small gap, the more massive, approximately 19 m3 stone sits conically. The center of gravity is distributed in such a way that this stone block can be set into a swinging motion by just 1 person. This stone formation has been recognized and registered by the provincial government as a natural monument. The sacrificial stones are located approximately 50 meters further uphill. Several sacrificial bowls can be clearly seen on these rock blocks. Waldhausen im Strudengau is situated in a charming, gently rolling hilly landscape.
