Schnallentor

"Schnalle" was the name for an old coin. In earlier times, the Schnallentor was a tollbooth: anyone who wanted to enter the city with a cart had to pay a paving toll. Even today, the upper part of Gleinkergasse is popularly called Schnallenberg.
